A Very Interesting Week

By A. Nonymous

What's up J-squad Homies! Last week was quite interesting as it was homecoming week. So just in case anyone missed the excitement, we are here to recap EVERYTHING!!!…. Well at least some of it. First, we would like to congratulate one of our own J-squad members (Keela Cline) for winning Homecoming Queen! Of course we knew you would bag dat win, Keela. You go gurl! On another note, congrats to Grayson Miller for winning Homecoming King. Both of you looked so elegant in those cushy chairs with the high class backs. For those of you who missed out or simply can’t remember, here is a recap of the daily themes: Monday was Mathlete vs Athlete day. For this day, students either dressed up as Nerds, or as Athletes. We must say, Gretchen Long’s nerd outfit was by far the nerdiest! Her attention to detail was scrumptiousness. Tuesday was Character Day, where students dressed up as their favorite character from a book, movie, or tv show. We really enjoyed everyone's outfits, especially the elementary students. Ms. Cortez's outfit was amazing. Her ‘cereal killer’ look even made our cereal from home jump in fright! The only disappointment was that Sturges didn’t dress up as Thor. This made us weep like little babies. Wednesday was class color day. We gotta hand it to the Sophomore class. Who would have thought that tye-dye could be so fresh. Also on Wednesday, The highschool students had a volleyball tournament. The Seniors took the win in a nail-biter over the 10th graders. Sophomore Jonny Walker had this to say about the crushing defeat …. “It should have been us.” It was an exciting game nonetheless. On Thursday, it was Twin Day! A student (or teacher) could dress up as their friend/teacher/coworker. Unfortunately, nobody wanted to be twins with Peck. He was a sad puppy. The same day, Umoⁿhoⁿ Nation had their Homecoming prep rally, with exciting games that involved a lot of the students. We have to admit that Ms. Hermelbracht was a pro at passing that balloon. We are sure that everyone had fun, even if they were watching from the bleachers. To finish our homecoming week, Friday was the most important day! Friday was the homecoming parade, the dance, and the game! Unfortunately, the game was cancelled. This game may be rescheduled (we are still looking into this matter). But that didn’t stop us from having fun! We replaced the real football game with a game of Powder Puff football. We have to say the girls really stepped up and provided fantastic entertainment for everyone. The parade was a success as well. The highschool students rode on the floats that they made throughout the week! Also, Friday was Chief’s day, where the students wore their Chief’s merch in support of the school. That will have to wrap up homecoming week!
