What’s up Chief fans! Hope you had a great holiday break. We know you missed us… but don’t sweat it… J-squad is back with a vengeance. Just before break various Umonhon Nation groups attended the Lakota Nation Invitational. Our students battled the ice and snow on the way to Rapid City, but once our homies arrived they did some serious damage. Let’s begin with our cheer squad!
Cheerleading/by Ruckus Sams
Our UNPS cheer team attended Lakota Nation Invitational to cheer on our Chiefs and Lady Chiefs. Of course our squad brought home the Golden Pompom award. That basically means that we were the loudest, nicest looking, perkiest, jazzhandsiest group there! When you walk past the trophy case take a gander because dat phat trophy is in dere. Although we were there to cheer, we also had a dance competition. Our squad got 4th out of 17 dance teams. Congrats to Ricky, Shylee, and the team.

Game 2: Umonhon Nation v Takini - Result: Another one of those days for Takini, as they couldn't slow down the Chief’s high powered offense. Kenyon WhiteEyes led the way!

Game 1: Umonhon Nation v Crazy Horse - Result: A total blowout in favor of the Lady Chiefs. We’re not even sure if CH got the ball past half court in the first half. Final score : Lady Chiefs 77 - Lady Chiefs 27. Hudnall called off the press in the second half!
Game 2: Umonhon Nation v Takini - Result: Once again the Lady Chiefs came out with another huge dub - Lady Chiefs 80 - Takini 17. The Takini fans were weeping with sadness.
Game 3: Umonhon Nation v Oelrichs - Result: The Lady Chiefs blew the Oelrichs away! Final score 59-23. Once again Coach Hudnall had to put in the reserves early! He’s such a nice guy!
Game 4: Umonhon Nation v Tiospa Zina - Result: The lady Chiefs lost a hard fought battle in the title game. The score was 50-45. Desma Walker led the team with 13 points and was named PLAYER OF THE GAME!
