‘If our girls show up to play we will be just fine!’

-Lady Chiefs vs Lady Jays-

The Lady Chief’s Volleyball squad be catching fire at the right time. Last Tuesday, they put the smack down on the Marty Lady Braves. The girls got out to a quick start as they won the first two sets in dominating fashion. Momentum slowed, however, as we dropped the third set... but our ladies didn’t panic because they have ice ice baby in their veins. The girls regrouped (with a pep talk from coach Berkenpass) and won the 4th set 25-23 to close out the Lady Braves. Hermy Thinks: ‘That was probably a long drive home for Marty after losing.’ On Thursday, the Lady Chiefs hosted our rivals from the west… The Walthill Lady Jays. Chills… that line just gave us chills… This was the 6th time that our girls faced the Lady Jays this season. Coming into Thursday’s game, the season series stood at 3-2 with the Lady Jays winning three matches and the Lady Chiefs winning twice. Prior to the game coach ‘John Cook’ Berkenpass said, ‘If our girls show up to play we will be just fine!’ Thanks coach! That was spicy! Well the girls did show up because now the series stands at 3-3. That’s right. The Lady Chiefs took care of business by taking out the Lady Jays in 4 sets. It was also Senior Night and the last home game! Senior Tanisha Parker says ‘Win or learn, never lose.’ What a way to end their home careers.
